Deltachrome Igp Drivers For Mac

Deltachrome

Hello, I have VIA/S3G DeltaChrome IGP card, which is onboard (if not mistaken). Here's what happened. I enabled the desktop, and the screen went white, so i had to look up the internet and one solution was to do the 'sudo envy'. I did, then it asked me to install ATI/NVIDIA drivers. When i tried to install either of them, it said i have no such card, fair enough. I decided to ask a friend, he told xgl/compiz works fine on ubuntu and if your graphics card is onboard i think ATI drivers installation manually should be okay.

I did so and it crashed my x server so i had to restore the xorg.conf file. So i want to know what do i do to get beryl/desktop effects working for pc? Is the card i mentioned supported? Thanks in advance. Sometimes reading your own post gives you the solution - right? Shall I help you?

You have a VIA card and as you correctly write envy is for ATI/NVIDIA Some more help? VIA is not ATI/NVIDIA so you will never succeed with envy I have found out that there is no driver for your video and will probably never be one for any linux. It's a rather old and low performance card. In synaptic I find a driver for a similar card - VIA/S3 CLE266/KM400/K8M800/UniChrome - installed by default.

This may work better than the vesa driver you will have to use if you can't use that one. It may work but not well and you will probably not be able to use beryl Run this in a terminal: sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg and select the driver mentioned above if you have it in the list of drivers - any VIA/S3 driver will probably be better than vesa To get back vesa use the tool XServer-xorg in the menu and select vesa If you can't get into the desktop you will have to resort to a trick described in the troubleshooter for the live cd.
