Same problem here. I have the apple digital A/V connector but the cable is too short to hide the big white box.
I've been looking for a simple box with 2 usb-c female connectors that i can run male usb-c cables from to add length to hide the unit but the best i can find is a USB convertor box. Its £20, its aluminium and the cable looks long enough for me to slip behind my desk. I plan on plugging the digital A/V into the power inlet which should transfer data also.

Post Merged, May 10, 2016 -I've been thru the the OWC USB-C dock some months ago - basically since I got the MB12' last autumn. The OWC thing needs a separate AC adapter and is got only one USB-C port to power the MB.
Simply comparing the specs of the Kickstarter idea let me discard the idea to get the OWC dock. The Mofily Marble comprises the AC adapter too, thus one may use it very likely to charge two USB-devices and another USB-C device at the same time. BTW, I found this thread by searching for an USB-C extension cable, which is with 9 bucks probably cheaper then anything else and will let me at least move the computer freely on my desk and hide the clutter of the cables. Regarding your post, deeddawg, I'm suspicious that it might really not worthwhile to post in a forum. I'm surprised how fast people get upset about information of others. But it's basically very easy: If you don't like it - don't read it.

If that ruffled your feathers, perhaps you should take your own advice; 'If you don't like it - don't read it.' I'll consider that Marble once it's actually shipping. If I need a dock at that point, and if seems a suitable option. At present it's nothing more than pretty pictures on a website.

I use ethernet, HDMI, and several USB 3.0 plugins so my hub possibilities were limited. I got the Juiced Systems hub (Link: with the plan to use extension cables to keep it out of sight on my desk. I ordered two of these: one for only charging and one for the hub. They work fine for charging, and work with the hub.
BUT they are incompatible with my Logitech receiver: the computer doesn't recognize the receiver is plugged in. My new problem is that the logitech receiver is also sensitive to all the electricity flowing here and there in the hub and has to be placed justright to avoid stuttering and freezing my mouse/keyboard. So far the best solution is using a second USB 3.0 hub and placing it as far from other wires as possible.
If I have to buy a new keyboard & mouse, Apple is shoving me farther into the future than I intended to go - the only problem is that the Logitech K750 is the best dang keyboard I know of, and the only wireless option with 10-key. Click to expand.I got two extension cables and tried them with an Apple HDMI-USB3-USB-C dongle and also with a normal extension cord from Apple, which comes with the 12' MB.
All with no success. It seems that these extension cables I got are not capable of delivering enough power to the 12'MB. The charging indicator starts to flash and the background LED's are flickering. But the USB connection to a DELL adapter worked and the LAN connection and to an HDMI Monitor worked, but all without connecting the 29W AC adaptor. In December 2016 I got a Marble AC adapter which works fine with the included short (25cm) USB-C extension cable. When I replace this short cable with the 2m Apple cable, then the HDMI is no longer working.
Beside that devices on the USB3 or USB-C like e.g. IPhones or iPad will not always automatically show up in iTunes. I assume that the longer Apple cable, which is thinner than the Mofily cable, has less wires or maybe other shielding and is not capable to transfer full HDMI speed. Sometimes I have to force the mounting of USB3 devices by power cycling of the Marble AC adapter, which is acceptable for me.
We may hope that the people at Mofily will improve their design further and maybe provide also longer extension cables with better data rate.
