Hey all, Today I bought a Nokia data cable for my 3220. It didn't come with a software CD, so I have downloaded and installed Nokia PC Suite and the driver for the DKU-2 data cable, both from the Nokia website. I made sure that I uninstalled any previous Nokia drivers, and that I rebooted the PC before and after installation, and before connecting the cable or the phone.

However, despite all this, when I do connect the phone, I get a message telling me that the USB device has malfuctioned, and that the device is not recognised, with no driver having been installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver with no success. Is there a particular method to get this to work, or particular place where I should be installing the driver for it to be recognised? Or can anyone suggest alternative software which they've had success with?

Many thanks in advance, Browneggsandham. Ok, I've got the initial problem sorted. It turns out I was sold the wrong cable for my phone - a DKU-2 rather than a DKU-5. Although they appear the same, obviously the drivers provided for my phone didn't match up with the cable. Now I have another question. Nokia 3220s don't have a very large memory - just under 3meg, and it is not possible to increase it. I was trying to copy some of the tones and graphics which came with the phone to my PC as backup, so I could then delete them from the phone and clear some space.

It turns out they are copyrighted and it wouldn't allow me to do so. Is there any way to overcome this, or will I just have to delete the files and lose them? Thanks in advance, Browneggsandham.
